Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Shoreline
An aircraft flying above a crowded coastal shoreline abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a line of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Footage posted online show the helicopter beginning to twirl over the shoreline then descending in the direction of the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck between palms and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were rushed to the hospital comprising a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
